Global study
In May 2015, Melissa spent three weeks in Buenos Aires, Argentina as part of a unique Centenary immersive course exploring the intersections of biology and religion. Studying in Argentina was an incredible experience. We spent three weeks in the heart of Buenos Aires and it really broadened my horizons in a lot of ways.
Adaptable skills
Luke graduated from Centenary with the ability to quickly absorb and apply information, rather than merely memorize it. This skill came in handy during his 3rd and 4th year of medical school when he started seeing patients and formulating diagnoses and treatment plans. Learn how the liberal arts can help you.
Luke will put his critical thinking skills to the test by practicing either rural Family Medicine or Sports Medicine following his residency at the University of Nebraska/Offutt Air Force Base in Omaha.

Luke earned a full med school scholarship from the Air Force Health Professions Scholarship Program. He'll serve in the US Air Force for four years following his residency in Family Medicine.
Gymnastics
Ashley is a decorated and dedicated student-athlete. In 2016, she became only the fourth gymnast in Centenary history to qualify for the NCAA Regional Competition and was also named a USAG All-American Scholar. Learn more about Ashley

He walked in the footsteps of African-American writers in Paris and explored questions of race and gender thanks to the "Paris Noir: Black America in the City of Light" course taught by Professors Dana Kress and Andia Augustin-Billy. In just three years, Cheredith has interned with two Shreveport mayors, a United States Senator, and a political action committee in Washington, D.C. She graduated in May 2017 with an impressive resume and a wealth of experience for the next steps on her journey. Learn more

In June 2016, Cheredith was nominated as a "change maker" and invited to attend The United State of Women Summit at the White House. She had the opportunity to hear from President Barack Obama, First Lady Michelle Obama, Vice President Joe Biden, and many other political leaders.

Cheredith shares her time and talents with the community she loves, on campus and beyond. She's active in her sorority, helping raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and is currently the youngest member of the Shreveport Mayor's Women's Commission. See how Cheredith gets involved
Cheredith joined other Centenary students on a spring break mission trip to Nassau, Bahamas in 2014. She worked to build and repair homes in economically depressed areas.
