30th annual Centenary Book Bazaar is September 9 and 10

SHREVEPORT, LA — The Centenary Book Bazaar sponsored by the Centenary Muses will come to the College's Gold Dome for the 30th year on Friday, September 9 and Saturday, September 10. Over 80,000 items will be available for purchase on Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

"This is where every book lover wants to be," says David Williams, Director of Development Services and liaison to the Muses. "The Muses have created a lasting event that has become an important part of the Shreveport community."

The Book Bazaar is organized and sponsored by the Muses, a philanthropic group dedicated to funding projects and programs for Centenary students. The Bazaar has raised more than $1 million for the College, and the Muses recently used Book Bazaar proceeds to purchase two new small passenger buses that are used for class field trips as well as transporting student athletes to and from games.

The 2016 Book Bazaar will again offer over 50 categories of paperback books, hardback books, DVDs, VHS tapes, CDs, cassette tapes, and puzzles. One section is devoted entirely to books found on local middle and high school reading lists, with required titles ranging in price from 25 cents to $1.25.

Patrons should bring bags or boxes to carry out their books. Carryout assistance is available. Cash or check is accepted. On Saturday, all items are half-price after 12:30 p.m.
