Centenary College Republicans to sponsor town hall with congressional candidate Dr. Trey Baucum

SHREVEPORT, LA — The Centenary College chapter of College Republicans will host a town hall meeting with 4th congressional district candidate Dr. Trey Baucum on Monday, October 24 at 6:30 p.m. in Centenary’s Kilpatrick Auditorium.

“The Centenary College Republicans invited Dr. Baucum to speak at Centenary to give our campus community and the Shreveport community a chance to have dialogue with a congressional candidate,” says Chris Maples, vice president of the Centenary College Republicans. “We hope we can highlight to Dr. Baucum some issues that are important to us as well as listen to issues he thinks are important.”

Baucum will speak briefly and then take questions from the audience at the town hall event, which is free and open to the public.

The College Republican National Committee recruits, trains, mobilizes, and engages college-aged students in all 50 states and Washington, D.C. There are more than 1,800 College Republican chapters and more than 250,000 members across the country.

Centenary’s College Republicans chapter meets twice a month to discuss issues and exchange ideas, and the group has plans to attend the state College Republicans convention after the November elections. Several Centenary College Republicans are interning for political campaigns, and the group plays an important role in facilitating those internships.
