Centenary to host Highland Parade Watch Party February 7

SHREVEPORT, LA — Krewe of Highland parade enthusiasts can find a home on the Centenary campus when the floats roll through the Highland neighborhood on Sunday, February 7. The College will once again host a free, family friendly watch party for alumni and friends in front of the Sam Peters Admission Building.

"We are excited to host the Highland Parade Watch Party at Centenary again this year," says Kris Holland, Events & Conferences Coordinator at Centenary. "The College has been in the Highland neighborhood since 1908, and has traditionally been very active both there and in our city as a whole. The watch party is something fun to do with our neighbors and friends for this great, family-friendly parade."

The celebration will feature free hotdogs for the first 250 party-goers, with other snacks, drinks, and Centenary merchandise available for purchase. To preserve the family friendly atmosphere, no alcohol is allowed at the event.

The Krewe of Highland 2016 royalty features several members of the Centenary community:

Captain of Highland XXI – Erin Berry '04
King of Highland XXI – Jeff Everson '01
Duchess of Columbia – Lorna Street Dopson '10
Duchess of Sintenary– Lisa McGill '87
