A.J. Haynes, the Shreveport singer/songwriter and 2010 graduate of Centenary's English Department, won the 2013 Louisiana Music Prize. The honor came with a 2500.00 cash prize and a recording contract with Blade Studios in Shreveport. Rolin Moe has accepted the position of Director of Educational Technology and Media at Seattle Pacific University. Moe received his doctorate (EdD) in Learning Technologies at Pepperdine University in May 2014. Read his most recently published article, "The brief & expansive history (and future) of the MOOC: Why two divergent models share the same name."

Steve Weddle makes his debut as a novelist with Country Hardball from Tyrus Books. As the reviewer for Publishers Weekly describes it, “Weddle’s debut novel is a suspenseful series of interrelated stories of tragedy, despair, and hopelessness in a rural Southern town…Weddle paints a vivid, depressing picture of a blue-collar community crushed by economic collapse and endemic substance abuse with characters, events, and dialogue that seem all too real.” Weddle, who earned an MA in English from Pittsburg State University and an MFA in poetry-writing from Louisiana State University, lives in Virginia, where he is vice president of Lakeway Publishers of Virginia, responsible for Lakeway’s media holdings in the state.
Tricia Matthew started her tenth year at Montclair State University this year where she is the department's Romanticist and teaches courses in Romantic poetry, the history of the novel, and theory. Written/Unwritten: Tenure and Race in the Humanities, the blog she runs about race and tenure in higher education is getting more attention every month and she is editing a collection of essays on the subject while writing a book about Romantic-era fiction, gender, and disease.
