When can I visit campus?
Centenary offers individual campus visits and Open Houses throughout the year - learn more on our Visit page!
We encourage all interested students to schedule an appointment at least a week in advance. When you schedule an appointment, our staff will contact you for details about your interests and help you finalize the schedule for your visit.
We encourage students to visit at their convenience, but the very best way to experience Centenary is when classes are in session. During the semester, you can schedule a day visit or an overnight stay (Monday through Thursday).

How does Centenary evaluate my application?
Centenary evaluates all candidates for admission through a holistic process which considers strength of curriculum and core GPA, standardized testing, a written essay and an interview, extracurricular activities, and letters of recommendation.
Students selected are those whose applications show the combination of academic excellence and extracurricular involvement that is at the heart of a Centenary education.

What should I score on my ACT/SAT?
Centenary does require a standardized test as part of the application process, but there is no prescribed minimum score for admission. The middle 50% of Centenary students score between a 22 and 28 on the ACT, and between a 1080 and 1280 on the SAT.
Centenary uses the highest scores submitted for admission and statistical purposes. Centenary also "super-scores," using the highest sub scores to give you the highest combined score possible.
When is my application due? Is there an application fee?
Centenary does not charge an application fee!
Important dates and deadlines are available on the Dates & Deadlines page. Centenary will accept applications past the February 15 Regular Decision deadline, but we cannot guarantee those students a place in the incoming class or assure that they will be fully considered for financial aid.
Applying before February 15 is strongly encouraged.
How do I apply for financial aid?
Your application for admission also serves as your application for merit-based financial aid - there is no separate application needed.
All students are encouraged to also fill out the FAFSA to be eligible for scholarships that have a need component and are not wholly academic or activity-based.

What is the FAFSA?
FAFSA is the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. It is a common application for all federal monetary programs, including Pell Grants, Stafford loans, and work-study programs.
The FAFSA is also used to determine eligibility for some institutional scholarships and grants offered by Centenary. We encourage all students to file the FAFSA to maximize their eligibility for all available financial aid.
Centenary's FAFSA code is 002003.
Does TOPS apply at Centenary?
Louisiana's Tuition Opportunity Program for Students (TOPS) is a comprehensive program of state scholarships and can be applied to your Centenary education. Eligibility and available funds are determined by the state, and the program is always subject to legislative revision and funding issues.
Students must be residents of Louisiana to qualify for TOPS. For more information, visit the TOPS website.
When do I find out if I am awarded an academic scholarship?
Your acceptance letter to Centenary will also indicate any merit-based academic scholarships. Students applying for Artistic Merit Awards in art, music, and theater will be contacted by the respective departments.
Students who submit a FAFSA will receive a financial aid package from the College denoting all award money the student will receive, including academic scholarships, Louisiana TOPS, artistic merit awards, grants, loans, and work study.
Is there a housing application?
After you pay an enrollment deposit at Centenary, you will receive an access code to a web system that allows you to sign up for housing.

Will I receive credit for AP or IB courses?
Centenary participates in the Advanced Placement program of the College Entrance Examination Board. AP credit will not be given for scores below 3.
Centenary also recognizes the International Baccalaureate program and awards credit for Higher Level examination scores of 5 or greater.
