Centenary alumni among 2017 class of "40 Under 40" honorees
SHREVEPORT, LA — Margo Shideler Clendenin ’03 and Joshua Porter ’04 were honored by the Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce’s Young Professionals Initiative for their professional achievements, leadership, and community involvement. Clendenin and Porter were recognized at the annual “40 Under 40” gala at the Shreveport Convention Center on December 2.
Clendenin is program director for Children’s Miracle Network Hospital Programs with CHRISTUS Shreveport-Bossier Health System. She has contributed to the local nonprofit community for the past seven years, working previously at both the Community Foundation of North Louisiana and Centenary College.
Porter is Creative Director for the Shreveport Regional Arts Council, where he has attracted national attention for his production and set designs for projects including SRAC’s Christmas in the Sky, JR’s Inside Out Project, and Unscene! events.
“I’m proud of the work we do through CHRISTUS Shreveport-Bossier’s 17 Children’s Miracle Network Hospital programs to serve kids in this area every day,” said Clendenin. “I’m grateful for the foundation Centenary provided me as a student to have a heart for service and to think big!”
The 2017 group of 40 Under 40 honorees were selected from the largest group of nominees in the 11-year history of the event. Profiles of all 40 honorees were published in the November 8, 2017 issue of The Forum Magazine. A Shreveport Times photo gallery from the December 2 gala is available here.
