Centenary announces summer piano preparatory program
SHREVEPORT, LA — Centenary College’s Hurley School of Music announces enrollment for the 2018 summer session of the Centenary Piano Preparatory Program (CPPP), offering a special series of piano lessons between May 2 and July 21. Students may choose between a short, four-week session in May or opt for a longer eight-week session. Both sessions begin on May 2. Students ages five through 18 are eligible for the program.
The CPPP has two teaching studios. Natasha Miller, a graduate of Arkhangelsk Pedagogical College in Russia and the holder of a certificate in Piano Pedagogy from Stephen F. Austin University, is the Director of the Program. Program instructor and Centenary alumna Cara Lamb was the holder of the Hurley School of Music’s highest honor, the Mary C. White Scholarship, and was the winner of the 2012 Monroe Symphony League Emerging Artists competition.
Tuition ranges from $120 for a 30-minute lesson during the four-week session to $480 for an hour lesson during the eight-week session. Check payments may also be mailed to the Hurley School of Music. Registration and tuition payments must be completed by May 1.
During the regular school year, CPPP offers both private lessons and class piano instruction for students ages five through 18. Students enroll for one 15-week semester at a time, and have the opportunity to participate in local piano festivals and give group recitals in the Anderson Auditorium at the College’s Hurley School of Music.
