Centenary recognized as a "Best College" by Princeton Review
SHREVEPORT, LA — Centenary has been recognized as one of the nation's best colleges in the Princeton Review's 2016 "Best 381 Colleges" publication. The annual ranking helps college applicants find the best fit by comparing hundreds of American colleges and universities. Centenary is also included in the Princeton Review's list of "Best Southeastern" colleges.
"We know that the Princeton Review is a valuable resource for students and parents during the college search process, so we're happy to be featured in two of the annual ranking lists," says Calhoun Allen, Vice President for Enrollment and Marketing at Centenary. "We look forward to connecting with students who learn about Centenary through our Princeton Review profile and want to learn more."
The Princeton Review produces 62 annual college rankings lists based on data from surveys of 143,000 students at the 381 institutions included in its book. The student survey includes 80 questions covering academics, administration, and student life, and each college is given a score based on its students' answers to the survey questions.
The full 2016 Centenary profile found at princetonreview.com provides statistical data alongside student survey responses. Students praised Centenary's small classes and "passionate professors," noting that faculty members demand academic excellence but also provide the support necessary for students to achieve it. Respondents also reported positively on Centenary's "close-knit vibe on campus" that facilitates learning even outside the classroom. As one student noted, "It's usual to find people clustered talking about the problems of the world and offering ways to solve them."
Centenary was recently named in Forbes Magazine's annual list of "Best Private Colleges" and "Best Colleges in the South." The College also received an "A" for financial health from the publication, the only one awarded to a private college in Louisiana.
The Princeton Review is a leading tutoring, test prep, and college admission services company. It has published the "Best Colleges" book since 1992.
