Marjorie Lyons Playhouse hosts "An Evening of Scenes"

December 5, 2016

SHREVEPORT, LA — Centenary College’s Production I class will present “An Evening of Scenes” at the College’s Marjorie Lyons Playhouse on Friday, December 9 at 7:30 p.m. The evening of short live theater selections is free and open to the public.

The performance includes eight scene selections, each one entirely student-directed, produced, and performed. Directors are students enrolled in Centenary’s Production I class in the theater department, taught this semester by Assistant Professor of Theatre Logan Sledge. Other Centenary students make up the cast and crew for the performances.

“It will be interesting to see how each director employs different elements of theatre to bring their vision to life,” says sophomore Bailey White, who is directing a scene from Food for Fish. “Some will focus more on a realistic set or costumes, while others take a much more minimalist or abstract approach.”
