Public invited to Centenary for presentation on protecting against identity theft and fraud

SHREVEPORT, LA — The Centenary College Paul Marvin Brown, Jr. Society invites the public to a Lunch and Learn addressing identity crimes on Tuesday, June 28. Gemalto, a world leader in digital security, has found that data breaches increased 49 percent in 2014, with identity theft as the top breach category. The company's Breach Level Index reports that 32 data records were lost or stolen every second in 2014. At the June 28 presentation, personnel from Regions Bank will offer information on preventing fraud, identity theft, and credit card skimming.

"We are pleased to offer this event as part of Centenary's responsibility as a community partner," stated David Henington, Associate Director for Donor Relations and Planned Giving. "I look forward to welcoming members of the Shrevport-Bossier area to campus to learn about this important topic."

The presentation will take place in Kilpatrick Auditorium on the Centenary College campus. A complimentary lunch will be provided following the presentation. To request additional information or RSVP by June 24, please contact David Henington at 318 869-5151 or planned@centenary.edu.
