Spring 2019 enrollment open for Centenary Piano Preparatory Program
SHREVEPORT, LA — Centenary College’s Hurley School of Music announces enrollment for the 2019 Spring Semester of the Centenary Piano Preparatory Program (CPPP). The CPPP offers lessons for students ages five to 18 and includes the opportunity for group piano theory classes. New students should register by December 30 and pay tuition by January 4. Spring semester classes begin January 7.
Students enroll for one 19-week Spring semester, and have the opportunity to participate in local piano festivals and give group recitals in the Anderson Auditorium at the College’s Hurley School of Music. The group piano theory classes help students become more knowledgeable and proficient in music theory, including note reading, music terminology, sight reading, ear training, scales, chords, and duet and ensemble playing.
The CPPP has two teaching studios. Natasha Miller, a graduate of Arkhangelsk Pedagogical College in Russia and the holder of a certificate in Piano Pedagogy from Stephen F. Austin University, is the Director of the Program. Program instructor and Centenary alumna Cara Lamb was the holder of the Hurley School of Music’s highest honor, the Mary C. White Scholarship, and was the winner of the 2012 Monroe Symphony League Emerging Artists competition.
Tuition for spring semesters ranges from $285 for a 30-minute group piano theory classes to $735 for both: 30-minute individual lessons plus 30-minute group theory classes.
