The Office of Community Engagement promotes volunteerism by connecting students to service opportunities.

THE BIG EVENT

The BIG Event is a student-led, large scale, day-of-service, which unites Centenary with its surrounding neighbors to build relationships, express gratitude, and enhance the community that has supported the college for over one-hundred years.

Dian Tooke Student Service Award

The Dian Tooke Student Service Award is presented annually in the spring of the academic year to a graduating senior who has made service to their community a priority during their time at Centenary. A supporter of students and a champion of community engagement, Dian Tooke was the 1st Director of Service Learning in the College's history.

These students have gone "above and beyond" not only in their Service-Learning participation, but in other areas by promoting civic stewardship and encouraging civic engagement and responsibility in the Centenary community.

Community Federal Work-Study Program

Centenary College places a number of Federal Work-Study-qualified students to work within non-for-profit agencies in our community. Each student is under contract with the College which determines the total numbers of hours that students can work, generally eight to ten hours a week.

Northwest Louisiana Volunteer Center

The Office of Community Engagement promotes volunteerism by connecting students to opportunities to serve through our partner at the Northwest Louisiana Volunteer Center (NWLVC). The NWLVC, supported by the United Way, fosters a spirit of civic engagement in Northwest Louisiana by connecting and enabling agencies and volunteers.
